Lot 58: MG ZA Magnette

Classics Cars, Charterhouse (15 July 2012)

The ZA and ZB range of sporting MG saloons are a favourable choice with enthusiasts today. Offering period style with the practicality of B series running gear. Originally registered in Melrose, Scotland, where it resided until recently. The original RF60 log book would suggest that the car has had a total of six owners, with only two since 1962. The current owner acquired the car recently as a solid and reliable runner, with scope for cosmetic improvement. Found to be structurally sound, all that was required to bring the car's bodywork up to standard was a small localised repair to one rear wing, and a professional polish. The interior retains its lovely original maroon leather seats, new carpets were fitted and all of the woodwork was repolished. The engine and gearbox were removed to repair a weak second gear synchromesh, and at the same time, the opportunity was taken to detail the engine bay. The vendor informs us that the MG performs well on the road with a smooth gearbox and the engine shows good oil pressure. V5C, ***MOT to January 2013 (not July)***, tax exempt
