Lot 66: MG TD

Classics Cars, Charterhouse (15 July 2012)

The MG TD, the quintessential British sports car was introduced in 1949, and would remain in production until 1953. It retains the classic looks of the previous T-type sports cars, incorporating elements of the Y-type saloon, including a modified narrow version of its box frame chassis, independent front suspension and rack and pinion steering. Georgina as this TD is affectionately known, was the subject of a body off restoration by a previous owner. There is a large history file with numerous bills, a photograph album with the restoration in progress, old MOT's, RF60 green continuation log book and general ephemera. Finished in a fetching shade of British racing green, with a contrasting red leather interior and correct red radiator grille slates. She has full black double duck weather gear, comprising hood, side screens and tonneau cover. The vendor informs us that Georgina is performing well and is ready to be enjoyed by the next owner during the forthcoming summer months. V5C
