Lot 69: MG B Roadster

Classics Cars, Charterhouse (15 July 2012)

This is a very striking and individual example of the ever popular MG B Roadster, with many interesting upgrades. An older restoration, the body was de-seamed and finished in stunning Rover Tahiti Blue metallic, set off by a set of five Minilite style alloy wheels. It was also fitted with a very expensive lined and padded mohair hood by Prestige Autotrim (current cost over 1000 fitted). Inside it has top of the range leather seats supplied by the MG Owners Club and the windows have been converted to electric operation. The boot area is fully carpeted. The engine is a factory Gold Seal unit (code BHM 1111 prefix), with spin-off oil filter conversion, alloy rocker cover and K&N air filters. It has been converted to electronic ignition and has a stainless steel sports exhaust. It has the final type overdrive gearbox, with the switch built into the gear knob. Sadly much of the early history was mislaid by a previous owner but the original service book is present and shows that it was first delivered as a personal export car in January 1979 and first UK registered in March 1981. There is a file of more recent bills for parts and work and several old MOT certificates. The car comes with a current MOT to March 2013 and tax to September 2012, so is ready to drive away and enjoy this summer. V5C, MOT to March 2013
