Lot 104: Jaguar S-type 3.0

Classic, Collectors, Sports and Prestige Cars, Barons (16 July 2012)

The 1999 S-Type saw Jaguar revive the name of a 1960's icon. Styling cues were taken from the classic model with it's twin swooped back headlamps, slatted oval grille and rounded C pillars. These timeless looks were coupled with modern day standards of quality and performance to give a highly desirable all round package. Two powerplants were available, a 3.0L V6 and a storming 4.0L V8 - the later pushing out a respectable 281bhp for a 6 second 0-60mph dash and 150mph+ top speed. Class and luxury are what Jaguar is all about and the S-Type has them in spades. Ride is smooth and the cabin ambience is comfortable, roomy and quiet, with all the traditional wood and leather trim. The example offered here is a 3.0SE model and is equipped with a rare specification, factory sunroof, in addition to the climate control. With service history, all original handbooks and a VOSA for mileage, there is little to doubt about this cars. The cherry on too of the cake is the JAG 240Y registration, which stays with the car.
