Lot 1000: Vincent Comet

Cambridge Vintage Sale, Cheffins (28 July 2012)

In the current ownership since 2001 the Vincent was sparingly used up until 2003 when it was tucked away with the rest of the collection. The 3 old MOTs show just 60 miles covered in that three year period and Derek relates that the Comet was purchased via the Walsham Motorcycle Museum and already had the mudguards painted black. The Vincent Owners Club confirms that the Comet was originally registered LLD 561 (NW London) and the engine, whilst not the original unit, is also of 1950 vintage. A good honest example of the much desired Comet still bearing the last tax disc which expired in June 2004. A new battery will be required and the usual re-commissioning before venturing onto the road once more, supplied with current V5C documentation.
