Lot 134: Bentley Turbo R Saloon

British Heritage + Classic & Collectors, Barons (30 July 2013)

The Turbo R was another step in the progression towards a more sporting image for the Marque and the realisation that the sporting heritage of Bentley had been ignored by Rolls-Royce for too long. With its turbo charged 6.7 litre V8 engine, tuned suspension and uprated brakes, the Turbo R could provide the luxury and finesse usually associated with a Bentley but the model also had a sporting side. This became evident when one depressed the throttle with a little more urgency. The Turbo R could waft its occupants to 60mph in 6.3 seconds and top 135mph. This Turbo R comes complete with selection of recent service/repair invoices adding up to over 7k. The car is fitted with a Thatcham Cat 2 immobiliser and is described, by the vendor, as having good engine and transmission, paintwork is good and interior is very good with only a little age related wear. Electrical equipment all works as it should. The car has had modest use in recent years and has a few cosmetic imperfections associated with age but nothing serious that detracts from the outstanding value it offers. The motor car is offered complete with Bentley handbook, two stamped service books, going back to 1990 and numerous previous MOT certificates.
