There were scores of small firms building sports cars in Italy in the 1940s and 1950s.  They mainly had two things in common: they used converted and tuned 500 or 1,100 cc Fiat engines (depending on the class for which the car was intended) and their names ended in "..ini".

Mandarini was just one more of these firms.  Their cars took part in the Mille Miglia but it is impossible to say which years because in those days these specials were all entered as Fiats.
