Standard 8 Saloon FVl (1947)
Standard had cleared the debris from the bombing of Coventry before the end of the war and were able to produce their first car in 1945.  The first post-war model was the Standard Eight which was a small car with a 1,009 cc engine that produced a mere 28 bhp.  Unlike the Ten and the Fourteen, the 1945 Standard Eight had a rigid front axle.  All the cars now had a four-speed manual gearbox with a floor-mounted gear-lever.
