Types: Saloon,4 doors,4 seats
1957 sportsman restored last 3 years

Perhaps the rarest Vanguard saloon variant made its debut in 1956, the Vanguard Sportsman. The Sportsman was a botched attempt to replace the old Triumph Renown models with a new "Sports Saloon" with modern styling. The Sportsman featured two-tone paintwork on its stylish four door body and a wide front grille which looked slightly "MG like"!

The new model was powered by a 90bhp version of the old faithful, 2088cc Vanguard engine and came complete with overdrive transmission and a specially improved cooling system. The Vanguard Sportsman only remained in production until 1957, just over 900 examples were built in this short time.
