Tatra Tatraplan 600
1947-1952, 6342 produced.
The Tatraplan 600 was introduced in 1947. This model was chiefly intended for export. The four-cylinder engine was now more run-of-the-mill, without an overhead camshaft, and produced barely 52 bhp from a capacity of 1,950 cc.
All manner of advertising was created for the Tatraplan. There were post cards such as the one in which the distinctive shape of the Tatraplan was associated with happy, elegant people, to suggest carefree motoring in a car that combined power, speed and elegance.
